If you are going to Niagara Falls and your kids are tagging along then you may want to take a little detour 4.5 miles downstream from the Falls to a place called Niagara Power Project; also know as the Power Vista. If you don’t have kids, this is still a great place to visit and is also a free attraction. The Power Vista is entertaining and educational for people of all ages. It offers hands on approaches to learning with over 50 different interactive displays that teach people things like the historic role hydroelectricity played in the Niagara frontier.

Another experience the power project offers is learning about how water is diverted from the Niagara River and used to produce electricity. You can take a break on the Observation Deck to get a look for yourself after viewing the demonstration terrain map.

The Power Vista offers group presentations for grades Pre-K – 12TH. They offer information on geology, history, electricity, and technology. There are specific grade level presentations also available.

At the end of all programs you are “shocked” by taking part in a demonstration using the Van De Graaf generator making your hair stand straight up!

Many people like to view the newly restored 7ft high mural of a scene from the 17th century of the Priest known as Father Lois Hennepin viewing the Niagara Falls with a group of Native Americans.

So stop by to be electrified and enjoy the Power Vista - the power project is open daily year round 9am to 5pm during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

How Much: $11 Adults $6.50 Children
Hours: Vary by Season.

Have you every wondered what it would be like to walk on water? Well you can come close by floating over the top - actually you can ride a cable car through the air above the raging Niagara River if you take a trip on the Whirlpool Aero Car.

You will be given the chance to see the amazing Niagara Whirlpool and rapids from directly above it. It is a wondrous feeling of intrigue and excitement.

Your breathtaking ride will last approximately 10 minutes for the round trip and allows a capacity of 35 people who will be required to stand for the duration. It is a seasonal attraction and will only be able to run in agreeable weather.

The Aero car is an antique cable car. The cable car ride was built in 1913 and it opened in Aug. 1916. It has been upgraded throughout the years to maintain its function and improve its design.

It is also a stimulating place to visit even if you don’t take the ride across. You can still experience the wonder of the whirlpool by watching from the side.

This ride is wonderful attraction you can do alone or with your whole family, but those who may be afraid of heights may need to sit this one out. Having done it personally, it is a great trip that I would intend to take again on my next visit. It is extremely beautiful.

Greg Frewin Theatre - Magic is in Niagara Falls!

What: Greg Frewin Theatre
Where: 5781 Ellen Avenue Niagara Falls, ON L2G 3P8, Canada
Phone: (905) 356-0777
Website: http://gregfrewintheatre.com/gregfrewin/

After seeing some of the shows in Las Vegas, I just knew I was in for a disappointment when I made plans to go see Greg Frewin perform in Niagara Falls for a special occasion.

Frewin’s theatre is located tucked away from all the hustle and bustle, on the top of Clifton Hill.

OK, I have been wrong before and once again, I was wrong by assuming Greg Frewin’s show would not be as good as the shows in Vegas. As a matter of fact, it is better then most.

Greg earned the title “International Grand Champion of Magic” and for good reason - he puts on one heck of a show!

We sat in the Orchestra area about 10 feet from the stage - the most expensive seats in the house but much cheaper compared to shows in Las Vegas. We did not have the dinner, so I cannot comment about that in this post. The theatre itself is small and intimate. We ordered enough Martini to get through the show, which was mixed well and was enjoyable to have. The show features multiple original tricks along with animals including dogs, birds and of course white tigers. You even have a photo opportunity (for an additional fee, of course) with Greg and the Tigers after the show. We also enjoyed Greg’s personality and comical bits. We’ll be going again this year, for sure.

Greg Frewin Theatre is recommended for the entire family to enjoy and something not to be missed while on your Niagara Falls vacation!
