How Much: Various Costs at Moderate Prices

Hours

Monday - Thursday
4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Friday - Saturday
4 p.m. - 12 a.m.
Sunday
4 p.m. - 10 p.m.

According to Blues, located in the Seneca Niagara Casino out the front entrance hallway near the Bears Dean, “It’s all about lip-smackin’ and finger-lickin’, a down-home restaurant specializing in serving up a big helping of Southern favorites.

We tend to agree with them and say they have hit the nail on the head.

If you are hungry for some good Barbecue like in the south, check out Blues. We’ve been to this restaurant numerous times and have yet to have a bad meal. My favorite dish is the Smoked Combo, while my wife just loves the Spicy Pulled Pork. We have never left this restaurant without taking food home, that is how big the portions are. The prices are moderate but considering you get lunch and/or another dinner with the leftovers, they are not that bad. If you are on your Niagara Falls vacation, check them out and doggy bag your leftovers for lunch the next day, because chances are you won’t finish it all - there is really no need for an appetizer here!

Lou’s “Petes” Market House

  • Location: Little Italy
  • Address: 1701 Pine Ave, Niagara Falls, NY
  • Phone: (716) 282-7225
  • Hours: Unavailable
  • Petes Market house is a small, family owned restaurant with excellent meals. Our favorite dish is the Friday fish fry. For those not familiar with what a fish fry is - a large piece of haddock (from the cod family) is deep fried to a golden brown and usually served with coleslaw and french fries. Petes takes the cake in the fish fry department. Served with your choice of baked potatoe or fries, it literally spills over the plate.

Petes is a two level building. On the lower level is the bar, with a small dining room in the back. Upstairs are the two main dining areas complimented by another bar and kitchen. Petes has a small restaurant feel - because that is exactly what it is. Decorated with photos of Niagara Falls throughout.

Waitresses here are friendly and fast.

    Prices
For less then $8 you leave with a full stomach. A family of four can eat here for as little as $30, and leave stuffed. Friday Fish is around $7.50 a plate.

Petes only accepts cash. Do not make the mistake of going there without greenbacks in your pocket.

A Niagara Falls Mainstay - The Como Restaurant

Traditional Italian/American fare including pasta, steak and seafood. Outdated interior desperately needs remodeling – dark, dingy red carpeting, old chandeliers and pink walls just don’t do this restaurant any justice, but it remains a local favorite. There is a deli right next door that serves up hot pasta and pizza during lunch, and you can get our favorite here – rolls & pizza bread. Food quality is mediocre. Not one of our favorites, but we tag along if others want to go there. Prices are moderate.

Goodfellas Pizzeria is right in the middle of city market. This little restaurant serves up some of the best pizza and wings in the city. $21 will get your 15 slices and 25 chicken wings.  5 minutes from the Falls and worth the trip!

Located in the Seneca complex, the Koi has a nice atmosphere with excellent Asian cuisine. Can be rather pricey but if you are looking for a nice sit down dinner in between playing, this is a nice place to go to eat. A nice touch to our last visit, once the staff found out we were there for a special occasion, they brought complimentary desserts to the table and sang Happy Birthday.

A Hyde Park mainstay, Sammy’s has been serving up pizza and wings from this location since we were kids. Although the food quality has changed over the years, Sammy’s seems to keep a loyal customer base. Features are pizza, chicken wings and salads. Also serving submarines and other fare, this restaurant is moderately expensive compared to other pizzerias in the area.

This café along the Niagara River is fairly popular among locals and lies just a few minutes from hotels. This restaurant has a wide variety of menu items and a NASCAR theme. If you are looking for a place to watch a NASCAR race in Niagara Falls, Justin Tyme would be the place for you. Our last visit in August 2007, we had 4 fish dinners, and one member of our party had a club sandwich. Our fish fry’s were great.
